Privacy Policy – Alka Super Guess Paper App

Alka Publishing House (“we”, “our” or “us”) operates the Alka Super Guess Paper App. The app provides free and paid EBooks/PDFs, printed-book ordering, home delivery, book-seller discovery and related educational services for school, college and university students across Bihar.

Our goal is to make Alka Super Guess Papers, previous-year question banks, exam-oriented notes and other study materials available for students of universities across Bihar. Availability may vary according to university, semester, course, subject and examination cycle. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when it is shared, how it is protected and the choices available to users.

 

Disclaimer: Alka Super Guess Paper App and Alka Publishing House are private educational services. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, authorized by or representatives of Bihar Board, Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University, Munger University, any other university, college, education board, government department or public authority in Bihar or elsewhere.

 

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When a user signs in or creates an account, we may collect:

• Name
• Email address
• Phone number, when provided
• Google account identifier and profile information made available through Google Sign-In
• Internal user ID
• Profile image, when provided

This information is used for authentication, account management, purchased-book access, customer support and fraud prevention.

Digital Book and Reading Information

We may store:

• Books viewed, purchased or accessed
• Reading entitlement and expiry date
• Reader-session and device-linking information
• Reading progress and continue-reading information
• Book searches and selected search results
• Offer eligibility and purchase-funnel activity

An app-generated device identifier may be used to enforce the single-reading-device rule for purchased digital books and to protect copyrighted content.

Physical Book Orders

When a user orders printed books, we may collect:

• Recipient name
• Primary and alternate phone number
• Address lines and landmark
• PIN code, city, district and state
• Optional latitude and longitude
• Ordered books, quantities and prices
• Discounts, delivery charges and COD amount
• Payment method and payment status
• Razorpay order, payment and refund identifiers
• Courier provider, AWB, shipment and tracking status
• Cancellation reason, refund status and support notes

This information is required to process, deliver, track, cancel or refund physical-book orders.

Location Information

Location permission is optional.

Location may be used to:

• Display nearby Alka Super booksellers
• Calculate approximate distance to a bookseller
• Help fill or validate a delivery location
• Store coordinates with a delivery address when the user chooses Use Current Location

If coordinates are saved with a delivery address, they may be transmitted to and stored on Alka Publishing House servers. Precise GPS location is not intentionally used for advertising.

Users can deny or revoke location permission through Android settings and can manually enter a delivery address.

Analytics and Diagnostics

We use analytics and diagnostic tools to understand and improve the app. Information may include:

• Screens opened and buttons clicked
• Book titles viewed, read or purchased
• Search terms and whether matching books were found
• Cart, checkout, payment and physical-order events
• Offer interactions
• Error messages, crashes and performance information
• App version, Android version and device model
• App-generated or Firebase identifiers
• Approximate city or region inferred from network information

We do not intentionally send delivery addresses, phone numbers, email addresses or exact GPS coordinates as Google Analytics event parameters.

Advertising Information

The app may display advertisements through providers such as Google AdMob and Wortise. Advertising providers may process:

• Advertising or device identifiers
• IP address and approximate region inferred from IP
• Ad interactions
• Device and app information
• Diagnostic information

Advertising behaviour may vary based on purchase status, user consent, device settings and applicable law.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• Authenticate and manage user accounts
• Provide free and purchased digital-book access
• Protect copyrighted content and prevent account sharing
• Save reading progress
• Process physical-book orders
• Verify phone numbers and delivery details
• Calculate prices, offers and delivery options
• Process online payments, COD orders and refunds
• Create courier shipments and provide tracking
• Respond to customer-support requests
• Detect fraud, abuse and technical problems

• Meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations

We do not sell or rent users’ personal information.

3. Service Providers and Data Sharing

Information may be processed by service providers acting on our behalf, including:

• Google Sign-In and Firebase: authentication, analytics, notifications and crash reporting
• Google AdMob and Wortise: advertising and ad measurement
• Razorpay: online payment processing and refunds
• Ekart, NimbusPost and other enabled courier providers: shipping quotations, delivery, tracking, COD collection and returns-to-origin
• Hostinger and Cloudflare: server hosting, infrastructure and secure content delivery
• Google Maps, Android location and geocoding services: location and directions
• WhatsApp: customer support initiated by the user
• YouTube: proof videos and external educational content

Courier providers may receive the recipient’s name, phone numbers, address, PIN code, order value, COD amount, package details and ordered-book information.

When a user taps WhatsApp support, directions, YouTube or another external link, information is handled according to that service’s privacy policy.

Service providers are permitted to process information only for delivering their relevant services, subject to their terms, privacy policies and applicable law.

4. Payment Information

Online payments are processed by Razorpay or another displayed payment provider.

Alka Publishing House does not intentionally receive or store complete card numbers, CVV, UPI PINs, banking passwords or similar payment credentials. Such credentials are entered into and processed by the payment provider.

We retain transaction identifiers, amount, payment status, order status and refund information for order management, reconciliation, support, fraud prevention and legal compliance.

5. Data Retention

Account and profile information is retained while the account remains active or as needed to provide the service.

Saved delivery addresses remain until deleted by the user, replaced or removed following a valid account-deletion request.

Order, payment, refund, invoice, courier and accounting records may be retained for the period required by applicable tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, consumer-protection or legal obligations.

Analytics and diagnostic information is retained according to our configured settings and the policies of the relevant service providers.

6. Security

We use commercially reasonable safeguards, including HTTPS encryption during transmission, authenticated APIs, access controls, private storage and restricted administrative access.

No internet transmission or electronic-storage method is completely secure. Therefore, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Users must keep their Google account and device access secure and should not share login credentials or OTPs.

7. User Choices and Permissions

Users may:

• Deny or revoke location permission
• Deny notification permission
• Manually enter an address instead of using location
• Add, edit or delete saved delivery addresses
• Cancel eligible physical orders
• Contact us regarding incorrect information
• Request deletion of their account and associated data

Disabling a permission may prevent only the feature that requires it and should not prevent access to unrelated app functionality.

8. Account and Data Deletion

To request deletion of an Alka Super Guess Paper account and associated personal data, email:

Send the request from the email address registered with the app and include the registered user ID if available. We may verify the requester’s identity before processing deletion.

Following verification, we will delete or anonymize personal data that is not required to be retained. Transaction, payment, invoice, courier, fraud-prevention or legal records may be retained where required by applicable law. We may also request relevant service providers to delete data processed on our behalf where applicable.

9. Children’s Privacy

The app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate authorization. If such information is identified, a parent or guardian may contact us to request its deletion.

10. External Links

The app may contain links to YouTube, WhatsApp, Google Maps, payment providers, courier tracking pages and other external services. We do not control the content or privacy practices of those services. Users should review the privacy policy of the external service before using it.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when app functionality, legal requirements or service providers change. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.

Material changes may also be communicated through the app where appropriate.

12. Government and University Disclaimer:

Alka Super Guess Paper App is an independent private educational and publishing platform serving students across Bihar. The app does not represent or provide services on behalf of any government entity, education board, college or university. References to universities, courses, semesters, subjects, examinations or syllabi are used only to help students identify relevant private study materials. All EBooks, PDFs, printed books, question banks and exam-preparation materials are independently prepared and published by Alka Publishing House. Availability of material for a particular university, semester or subject may change over time.
